A goodiebag that did good

I’m so thankful right now. Colart sent me a fantastic Winsor and Newton goodiebag full of watercolor markers, papers and even watercolor crayons and the small watercolor tubes (which I already own but I don’t mind some extra, they’re great).

I’ve fallen in love with Arches paper but trying the sample of the hot pressed cotton paper from Winsor and Newton it could be I’ve found a second lover.

The colors worked really well and even adding a bit of ink pen worked really nicely. Smooth but sturdy you know, just the way I need my papers. I do love grains as well in my papers, but mostly that’s for another kind of illustration work. When I do my own artworks I really need the smoothness because I work slightly different nowadays and detail and almost comic feel is of essence when I cram all my stories onto the paper.

I look forward exploring further, so for now I leave you all with a big smile, a feeling of thanks and love and appreciation. It’s nice to be supported, to feel supported. It’s especially nice when the quality is not compromised. I can actually use this for work! It’s what I already prefer working with.

So. Warmth, love, and a thousand thank you’s.

xoxo

Olander’s illustrations combine a lush painterly sensibility with a darkly playful take on girlish fun and the remixing of fantasy with the everyday.
